Masoud Mokhtarani, MD joined Hyperion in 2008. He was most recently VP of Clinical Affairs at Limerick BioPharma, where he was responsible for clinical development of the company’s novel P-glycoprotein modulator to modify drug disposition and tissue distribution of target drugs. Prior to Limerick, Dr. Mokhtarani led the clinical group responsible for Pfizer/Rinat Neurosciences’ anti-NGF monoclonal antibody program for chronic pain. In this role, he was the clinical lead for the company’s Development Review Committee (DRC) and the clinical representative in the due diligence activities that lead to the acquisition by Pfizer in 2006. From 2002-2005 Dr. Mokhtarani was a clinical scientist at Immune Tolerance Network, a consortium of leading academic and industry experts focused on conducting large scale proof of concept clinical trials that address immune tolerance and immunity. Dr. Mokhtarani earned his MD from Tehran University and completed a one-year post-doctoral clinical research fellowship at UCSF.
