Overview

Hyperion Therapeutics Inc. is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations and adhering to the highest ethical and quality standards in its marketing, promotional, educational, and research activities.

To assure continued compliance, Hyperion has structured this compliance program to comply with internal corporate policies such as the Hyperion Code of Conduct, industry codes of practice including Pharmaceutical Research Manufacturers of America Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals (PhRMA Code), and applicable laws and regulations. The compliance program incorporates the fundamental elements outlined in the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Compliance Program Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and includes:

• Written standards of conduct, policies, and procedures that define Hyperion’s commitment to compliance
• Designation of a Compliance Officer and Compliance Committee
• Development of training and education programs
• Monitoring and auditing of progress toward achieving excellence
• Providing avenues for effective communication, including the anonymous reporting of non-compliance
• Appropriate disciplinary mechanisms for infractions
• Corrective and preventive actions to help ensure ongoing improvement in our approach to compliance.
